Getting around Zimbabwe

The four things travellers ask before booking here.

Why fares are quoted in US dollars

Zimbabwe prices in US dollars and so do we. The fare you are quoted is the fare you pay, settled online before travel, with no conversion at the roadside and no cash changing hands with the driver.

Victoria Falls and the Zambia border

The Zambian side of the falls is a short drive across the Victoria Falls Bridge. A transfer to Livingstone is a genuine cross-border movement: your driver holds the vehicle's permits, but your own passport and visa must be in order. Allow time at the border post.

Safari road transfers

Hwange, Mana Pools and Matobo are reached by road, and the last stretch to a camp is often unsealed. We price these as fixed corridors rather than by the kilometre, so a slow road does not become a bigger bill.

Airport meeting points

At all three airports your driver meets you inside the arrivals hall with a name board. You get the driver's name, photograph, vehicle and registration before you land, plus free waiting time from touchdown.

Zimbabwe transfer questions

How far is Victoria Falls Airport from the town?

About 20 km, roughly 25 minutes. It is priced as a fixed corridor — the live fare is on the route card above.

Can you drive me from Victoria Falls to Livingstone in Zambia?

Yes. It is a cross-border transfer of about 33 km including the crossing. Your driver holds the vehicle permits; you need your own valid passport and visa.

Do I pay in US dollars?

Yes. Zimbabwe fares are quoted and charged in USD, online, before travel.

Can you reach Hwange or Mana Pools by road?

Yes, both are priced as fixed road corridors from Victoria Falls or Harare. The final approach to a camp is often gravel and is already priced in.
