Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of TransfersCO and the bookings you make through us.

Last updated: 9 August 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and TransfersCO (Pty) Ltd(“TransfersCO”, “we”, “us”). They govern your access to and use of our website, apps and booking services across 54 countries. By making a booking or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Your privacy is covered separately by our Privacy & Cookie Policy.

About these terms

We may provide additional terms for specific products (for example tours, coach charter, corporate accounts or partner portals); where those apply, they form part of this agreement. If there is a conflict, the product-specific terms prevail for that product. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law (including South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act) that cannot be excluded.

TransfersCO (Pty) Ltd is a private company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa, registration number 2023/867485/07.

What TransfersCO is

TransfersCO is a booking platform that connects travellers with ground-transport and tour services provided by vetted drivers, fleet partners, suppliers and operators. Depending on the service and route, we act either as a booking intermediary arranging the service on your behalf, or as the contracting party. In all cases the transport or tour itself is performed by a driver, operator or supplier.

Accounts & eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You may book without an account, but if you create one you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate, current information — bookings rely on the contact and trip details you give us.

Bookings, quotes & prices

  • A quote is an offer valid for the period stated (or until it expires). A booking is confirmed once we accept it and, where payment is required upfront, once payment is received.
  • Many of our routes are fixed-price: the price shown at booking is the price for the trip as described. Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
  • Prices can vary with route, distance, vehicle class, time of day, waiting time, additional stops, extras, and the number of passengers or luggage. Materially changing the trip after booking may change the price.
  • We take reasonable care to price and describe services accurately. In the rare event of an obvious error, we may correct it or cancel the affected booking and refund you.

Payment, fees & currency

Payments are processed by regulated third-party payment providers. By paying, you authorise the charge for the total shown. We support multiple currencies; the currency and amount charged are those shown at checkout. Where a booking is made on account (for corporate or partner arrangements) or paid from a prepaid partner wallet, the applicable account terms govern billing and settlement.

Changes, cancellations & refunds

Cancellation is governed by our published Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms and applies to every booking made through us. The charge is tiered by how close to the scheduled pickup you cancel:

  • More than 24 hours before pickupFree — full refund.
  • 24 to 4 hours before pickup50% charged.
  • Less than 4 hours before pickup, or no-show100% charged.
  • Changes. We do not charge a change fee. A change to a confirmed booking is accepted subject to availability and to the notice periods published in the Cancellation Policy — 12 hours before the scheduled pickup for a change of date, time, route, vehicle class or passenger count, and 2 hours for a passenger name, contact number or flight number. Requests made inside those periods are accommodated where the operator and vehicle allow.
  • Changes that affect the price. A change to the route, the date, the vehicle class, or a passenger count above the capacity of the class booked is requoted. Any increase is payable before the change is confirmed and any reduction is refunded. Where a change cannot be accommodated, the tiers above apply.
  • Flight delays are handled automatically under the Cancellation Policy and are not treated as a change to the booking.
  • Where a specific service carries its own cancellation policy, that policy is shown before you book and prevails for that booking.
  • Refunds are made to the original payment method. Any amount charged under the tiers above is retained; the balance is refunded.
  • We may cancel a booking if it cannot be fulfilled, if payment fails or is reversed, or in cases of suspected fraud or misuse — with a refund where you have paid and the service was not provided.

Your responsibilities

  • Give accurate pickup, drop-off, timing, flight and contact details, and be ready at the agreed pickup point and time.
  • Ensure the passenger count, luggage and any special requirements match your booking, and declare animals, oversized or special items at booking. Comply with the vehicle’s capacity and safety rules, including seatbelt and child-seat requirements.
  • Behave lawfully and respectfully toward drivers, operators and other passengers. Do not transport illegal, dangerous or prohibited items.
  • You are responsible for any damage you or your party cause beyond fair wear and tear.

Luggage, animals & special items

Each passenger may bring one large or hold bag and one small cabin item, included in the fare. Luggage beyond that allowance, oversized or special items, and animals must be declared at booking so that a suitable vehicle is assigned. Undeclared items are carried at the driver’s discretion and subject to vehicle capacity; where they cannot be carried, the booking is treated under the no-show terms of the Cancellation Policy.

Assistance animals are carried on every vehicle at no charge and are never refused. Other animals, mobility aids, medical equipment and oversized or special items are carried on declaration, subject to operator acceptance, and attract the charges published in What’s included, which are added to your quote before you pay. Where an item requires a larger vehicle class, that class is quoted. Permits and documentation for taking an animal across a border are the passenger’s responsibility.

The full allowances, charges and exclusions are set out in What’s included, which forms part of these Terms.

Drivers, partners & suppliers

Transport and tours are performed by independent drivers, fleet partners, operators and suppliers, not by TransfersCO employees. They are responsible for holding the licences, permits, insurance and roadworthy vehicles required to provide the service. We vet partners and set service standards, but we do not control every aspect of an individual trip. Partner, fleet, provider, agent and corporate accounts are additionally governed by their portal terms.

Liability

We provide the platform and arrange services with reasonable skill and care. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by events beyond our reasonable control (including traffic, weather, flight delays, road closures, or acts of third parties). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection rights. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the affected booking, except where the law provides otherwise.

Complaints & disputes

If something goes wrong, contact us as soon as possible so we can help — most issues are resolved quickly. Email support@transfersco.africa with your booking reference and the details. We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and resolve them fairly.

Intellectual property

The TransfersCO name, logo, website, apps and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. You may use the service for your own bookings; you may not copy, scrape, resell or misuse the platform or our content without our permission.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights available to you in your country of residence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above. The Terms in force at the time you make a booking govern that booking.
